Just a question.

I was recently informed that you could talk within your cabal while you're sleeping but you can't send tells (I'm not sure about gtell as I was in the middle of nowhere when this thought came to me and gtell doesn't send an echo back for me to test it myself while sleeping).

Why is that you can communicate with other people using one particular method while other methods that seem to work by similar means are unavailable?

Edit: In particular concerning the ability to receive help via communication while being in a magically induced sleep while people without said affliations are stuck.

The obvious answer is "whatever will justify it for you".

This could be because it exists on a different level of consciousness or whatever. At the end of the day, every reason is as justifiable as the next, and you just need to pick one

Because cabal tells are usually a bit more important. Don't change, please.

Don't you just hate it when you can't send a tell to a priest when you're dead and he's sleeping?

Giving us the ability to do so, would be so uber.

Exactly my point. In the case of a magically induced sleep, the person being slept can just .. somehow.. contact a member of his/her cabal to come rescue her/summon him or whatnot where as a person of non-cabal is just.. stuck?

How does that seem reasonable?

Edit: Not reasonable, just logically incorrect if infact the cabal tells work the same as normal tells (by magic or whatnot).

The game reason for cabal channel use while sleeping is obvious enough. The channels are meant for broadcast messages. If you couldn't tell everybody had gotten your message, you'd have to spam it regularly. Ick.

As for the magical-sleep case, cabal/tribunal characters are more powerful than unaffiliated characters. We don't even attempt to hide that. This is one of their powers.

If you really wanted to, type cb before you go to sleep to turn cabal chat off. I wouldn't make the change so you can't hear it while you're asleep though.

Cabal chat isn't usually as important as tells, but the times they are make up for the times they are not. This certainly isn't something that should be changed. If you really feel like you shouldn't hear cb while asleep, turn it off. Just wait till the day you get chewed out because you didn't hear that your keep was getting raided...

As for magical sleep, well, thats an RP decision. *shrug*
