You walk west.

A Large, Sparsely-furnished Study
Much larger than it needs to be, this study leaves plenty of room for
even the largest of beings to pass through it.  A giant could likely even
find comfort in the high ceilings, open space, and oversized furniture.
Several bookcases line the walls, but are hardly filled with to capacity and
leave many open spaces which are filled with various bookends fashioned into
the shape of elemental symbols.
A large door made of solid bronze has been placed here in the middle of
the study, which seem to wrap around to the left and right of it.  The
large, double doors are nearly as tall as the ceiling, which allows for even
some of the tallest giants to stand.
Obvious exits: e s w sw se
( 2) A roughly cut cape made of skin is here.
An old man stands here, hunched over heavily.

An old, crooked man is still hyper-alert from combat.

They aren't fighting right now.

It's quite annoying that you have no way to initiate combat against someone who still has pulse and has fled from you (from the second row where a rogue usually resides, mind you). Considering that hamstring works both as an opener and during mid-combat, perhaps it could be made so that it could be used to initiate against hyper-alert opponents, too?

Whaddaya say?

What happened to things like 'kill old' or 'recite old'?

Second row excludes kill, and the scroll/dirt kick approach is all fine and dandy against NPCs, but it won't hold water against another player...

You could always order the pet to attack as well, but it is probably going to die fast..

Backstab is meant to surprise your opponent. As for hamstring, how can you expect someone who just got out of combat to allow another person anywhere near them, especially the guy who just assaulted them?

Durr.
