I do think the point is for it to go on the symbol slot.

Also if it has no bonuses could anyone wear it? that way we could have a shamon make a certian type of symbol (lets say Snake) and then hand it to his followers (barbarians, scouts etc) and they can all wear the snake charm necklace as thiere holy symbol? Just an idea of course. and only if it does NOT give any bonus.
