Axes are fast enough to give up to 2nd attack, so they don't need a speed boost.

Maces and flails are actually quite deadly also, just slow and inaccurate(which matters little also in PvE).

This doesn't match my experience at all. Maybe you know where to find really great maces/flails/axes at low level, but what I find is far worse than spears, which have reach yet. I was shocked the first time I played a half-serious scout instead of a caster. Oh, the power! :)

I'll agree frenzy is a key levelling spell for priests. Shamans don't get it until they don't need it. It's more a malediction spell for them.

Use throwing weapons for additional attacks, if you're lucky you can find someone to enchant them first too.

Shamans get axe and usually are rolled with higher strength then the average priest, so theirs isnt too bad.
But priests really suck at leveling from amateur - jman

You just have no clue how to play a priest then. In all the priests I've played I've never had a issue getting from Amateur to Journeyman. They don't need anything to aid their low levels.

Having leveled one recently, they really aren't that bad. Just be creative.
