Mastered Spells

I would categorize chords as a skill, not a spell.

I think you guys are confusing mastered spells failing because NPCs are saving to a spell failing because you actually failed to cast it. I have never seen a spell that does not have a save, fail once it is mastered. Best way to tell is the mana usage. If you cast a spell and it takes the full amount of mana to cast that it usually does, it was a successful cast. If it was half the mana, you failed to cast it. Regardless if the spell actually succeeds in doing what it is intended to do.

I was recently hunting undead with a mastered cure light, and over the course of several hours I failed twice. If I knew how to take log files, I would provide a log of evidence.
