I think the fix for bash is to allow people to bash into the second rank or even better bash an entire column at a time.

Spam bash isn't as effective a tactic that everyone makes it out to be. I rarely used spam bash with Rorey and he was probably the most successful PvP barb since Paddah. I routinely murdered people who tried to spam bash me.

swashies should have a skill to instantly kill anyone who tries to bash them. two swords, one for parrying and the other for shoving through the heart of the person trying to slam themselves into the person with two swords and a higher dex to side step said tactic. though to be fair, if they have a shield, they should get a shield block for this bash, but it'd be a great fix the massive weapon problem!
