In all honesty, what's the point of playing a giant or a sprite with these spells in the game in their current rendition? A Human for example with both of these spells can reach 25 str and 25 dex simultaneously, something neither a Giant nor Sprite can do.

On top of that, the boost they give to weapons / melee make it so that just about any medium or large sized race can do just as much damage, if not more so than a Giant without the racial vulnerabilities. Perhaps there should be a limit set to +1 or so over max to where these two races can still have their racial advantages play a part. (Keeps humans from reaching 25 str or 25 dex)

As it stands now, medium races with giant strength and haste are just as nimble in some cases as Sprites and as strong as Giants. This really shouldn't be happening because it takes away any advantages these two races get away. The fatigue alone isn't really enough to offset people until multiple stacks of it have been obtained.

Well to answer your first sentence for sprites: innate magic resistance.
To answer for giants? Insane melee damage.

I would have thought this argument more salient prior to the addition of fatigue. GS and haste can no longer be maintained all the time without penalties. Whereas giants will always be as strong as they are trained, sprites always as fast. As it is now, the difference is between innate versus a potential maximum. If you took all the characters, plotted them according to fighting capability, I think that there would only be a select few that are on the extreme high end. These characters are likely played by veteran players capable of getting high end equipment, well enchanted, the appropriate buffs, and make the correct tactical decisions in combat. There is no reason to shift the entire bell curve simply because a few can outperform the rest of us.

They are the legendary few that accomplish the amazing and in my opinion, gives us average players something to aspire to. I respectfully disagree that this is something that is 'broken' in need of fixing.

Giant will always keep his 25 Str, the Human will eventually lose his, same with the Sprite in regards to Dex.

And on that, why would you make a Melee class using a Sprite as your race? That's just silly!

Giants also get gigantic weapons that from what I know of boost damage, besides all of the aforementioned benefits.

Are we forgetting the fact that giant strength negates weaken? If you know you're going up against someone who has the ability to weaken you, having giant strength could be the difference between life and death.

I don't think you understand the mechanics of fatigue enough to make the claim that it has no impact. Two fatigues (automatic if you plan to use GS/Haste at the same time) is a significant hit. Double that, and now you've started losing str points too, which is even worse.

Sprites and giants have advantages against a human in their respective "specialty" even when the human has Haste or GS, and neither is subject to fatigue stacking to keep those advantages.

Btw, as an aside, threads like this are why people "assume everything you say is whinning," since you seem perpetually confused as to why most people dismiss everything you say out of hand. This thread isn't intended to properly examine the effects GS and Haste have on melee damage, or their ability to negate the playability of sprite and giant respectively, it's intended to complain because your sprite caster is not as impressive as a fully geared, prepped, and connected PC warrior one-on-one.

Fatigue is a horrifying affect to have to suffer through. Especially if stacked 3+ times. A warrior can only abuse these in short bursts, and then they have to go rest to get rid of fatigue, which takes double the time of the spell affect.

I don't have to cover both arguments, but we'll just use the giant. Giants have innate herculean str, and larger weapons do more damage. Giants *always* pour out massive melee damage. A human can get giant strength to augment their damage a bit, but then they'll also suffer through the effects of fatigue, which actually become quite pronounced after several of them stack. Personally I loathe needing to wait through fatigue. The bonus of a giant is *always* being able to dish out maximum damage.

Also, I'm sure other spellcasters can manage heroic feats, Kin, just not you.
