A little advice: it's best to just ignore the forums, and when people you don't like log in, to ignore the MUD, too.
This is uncharacteristically solid advice from grep. Never let the forums affect your experience in-game, and when you find that you longer respect or enjoy the company of the people you play with/against, stop playing until you feel differently. Expect to be treated like dog crap, and when you're no longer able to handle that without hard feelings, stop playing and do something else. This is a wonderful game with a very mixed playerbase, and sometimes certain players are able to lower your enjoyment of the game to the point where you'd rather go play another game. This has happened to me and a number of other players with a certain unnamed sorcerer who favors certain tactics that may or may not be discussed in this very thread. There's really no point complaining about it; just stop playing when you don't feel like you would have fun logging into the game, and start logging in again when you feel differently. I guarantee that your in-game experience with be immeasurably better if you view it as less as a responsibility to your character or other characters, and more as a personal decision to log into a game you enjoy.
On a vaguely related note, I really enjoy watching grep troll a certain unnamed player who may or may not employ certain unsavory tactics in-game. Grep, you have no idea how happy your antics make me sometimes. Please continue.
