A proposed stance that is available to mercs or swash. The stance allows them to enter a state of tutelage where the damage output is minimal but helps the attacker to advance their parry/enhanced parry/riposte skills without the need to enter actual combat.

Kind of a fluff ability to promote character interaction and boost parry/eparry learn rates. Perhaps apply other stances and skills that help promote the skill increase of other players, while in the process lowering the cap on what people can train initially. It seems people are looking for more out of their characters than just attack/kill/destroy, so why don't we come up with some skills/spells/stances/etc. that allow characters to interact in a more in depth mentoring role?

Yeah, no. There won't be any interaction. There will be the cursory - sup, dawg - and then on to lawl mastering of skills.

If you want to master parry/e-parry - do work, son.

It sounds like you want to deal no damage and receive none yet still be in combat.

Veteran players accomplish this by using good armor and very poor weapons against large numbers of weak monsters; I'm sure you can ask around for specifics, so I won't divulge any here and risk being punished for it.

My intent was a system in which classes could interact on a mentoring level as opposed to adding more stuff on the pk side, add some fluff fur roleplay, however you wish to accomplish it. Tappi tappi if adv exercise we used to teach fundamental hand and foot work.

I was hoping to hammer out some mechanics that may work with the mentoring system and drive some possible rp.

The whole point of skills taking time to learn/train is because if they didnt people could make a new alt every other week. It would be nice to be able to turn an option on to do less damage but take more damage well helping someone else train. Mood defensive. As far as parry eparry riposte, You can learn the basics even advanced training from a teacher but other than having weapons fly at you your never going to master it. Mentor will already teach you better than most trainers. If you want to mentor your student though a battle duel the stun could be used as a tool for that, or just emotes and pemotes.

Generally speaking, the point of skills taking time to learn and train is so that the user gets the time to become proficient with one before moving on to the next. Content can be made to showcase developing skills and recent additions, balance can shift as skillsets increase, and diversity can be seen as branches in development manifest through character build choices. It's the mechanical equivalent of storytelling with buildups, climaxes, and plot twists.

I agree with your other points, however.

Where did OP get the name from?
