Give scouts the ability to create a fire that works the same way inn rooms do. Give everyone in the group enhanced healing while rested.

Simple and awesome. God I'm a genius.

I'm pretty sure nothing but the Inn's will EVER get the resting bonus.

Other idea's even more awesome and genius than this have been suggested.

Good idea. A healing bonus would be nice, but something less than an inn's. I'd like to see some kind of similar ability for most anybody if for no other reason than just to give newbies a chance to create a fire & create some light out in the wilderness while they're travelling.

Also, if you're in the wilderness at night (except perhaps the jungle or deep forest), if there's any moonlight, you should be able to see the room you're in and your own inventory/worn EQ.

Actually, this idea has come up multiple times before (sorry to burst the bubble, Jardek, you're not a unique and...yada yada) and it's been shot down before, also. Or at least...not paid much attention to. I'm not sure which.

There was a similar thing like this in Star Wars Galaxies MMO, where entertainers could dance and sing to sooth those in camp. Scouts could make those camps. Enhanced healing and regeneration while there.

WoW has something similar as well if I am not mistaken.

It's a good idea, it could add but I dont see it happening for many reasons.

Good suggestion though.

Campfires would die down eventually, so anybody brewing/scribing there would need a scout coming by again and again to remake it. Which is a pain.

As well, I also don't think the bonuses of a campfire should equal Inn regeneration rates, since they obviously aren't nearly as comfortable. So if that was implemented I think people would still be brewing in Inns, just because it would definitely be more efficient. A useful skill for newbies too... would make leveling just a little bit faster ;)

The latter, I'd say.

It's not a bad idea, especially with a few mitigating factors [perhaps restrict it to outside, give a chance of random encounter while gathering materials for the fire, an 'ashes' type object left behind afterwards that others can use when following the character's trail, etc...] I agree that this wouldn't be a bad thing as long as we kept the regen bonus modest. Would make leveling more fun, would encourage RP while resting... what's not to like?
