Do you like the new PAR system, where numerous chars of any profession can be PAR, or the old one, where it was one per class? Perhaps we could go back to the old one, and then AFTER the biggest PARs(most enlights) have been chosen, we can give PAR to the runners up, to keep it even, so there can be extra PARs of each class, but its less likely, and more "balanced"?

PAR is mostly pointless anyways. It has more to deal with who you know than RP, anyways.

I like the newer system better since it actually rewards everyone whose rp'ing. I remember times when there were people who got PARS for classes and it was like...wtf...HOW did they get par.

I mean, there's no reason why someone with one enlight should be PAR simply because they're the only barbarian whose gotten an enlight and it keeps a rogue with 58 enlights from getting one because the other rogue has 59. The 58 and the 59 both deserve it.

The PAR system is a circle jerk.

Only those who know the 'in' crowd ever get a chance.

This is provably untrue, at least in an absolute sense.

Unfortunately, we don't deal in absolutes on these forums. Our opinions and generalizations such as this are based on perceptions, and a very common perception is that the paragon system is pretty incestuous in nature.

It is a flawed system to be sure, but I think the idea that people only give it to their lolbuddies is just absurd. Most of the "in crowd" seem to think it is worthless and do not care, and most that I have seen go out of their way to reward new or underrated characters.

The only reason I can fathom that people might see the PAR system as a circle-jerk is because good RPers don't stop being good RPers, even across multiple characters. What an insane concept.

The new system is superior, and while it's not perfect, I haven't heard any decent suggestions for improvement.

Is that why certain people still keep getting par despite the fact that they have been cursed several times across several different chars? Yes, there are some that don't do that and are good RPers. There are some that still gives me a headache when I RP with them.

I have gotten PAR on four of my chars, and most of the enlights I have ever got were from imms, I think. Circle-jerk does have a power to a point, but that's that. After all, how many times can a PAR reward the same character? I found myself seldom reward the same character twice (in his/her lifetime). So I really don't think it's the circle-jerk that creates the PARs.
