I ask that you please keep your comments in this thread limited to the evaporation of store-bought vials and scrolls. If you have a comment on other ways to make the game less boring and more engaging, then the general "The Grind Less Campaign" thread is the place to put them. Thank you.

Okay seriously, I don't think that I've ever seen a bigger slap in the face than spending a few obsidian buying vials, brewing word of recall into those vials, and then giving them to people and having them start evaporating.

For the love of all that is good and holy remove the #&!^@# evaporation flag from storebought vials, or at least make it take five times as long to happen. I cannot think of how it enriches the game in any conceivable way, but it sure does [REDACTED] me off. I understand putting evaporation code on certain found vials and scrolls. Not storebought ones. That is possibly the most annoying thing in the entire freaking world.

That is all.

I largely agree with Edoras on this but didn't vote in the poll because I think it should vary based on quality of vial.

For the low-quality vials (which really should be unlimited) I'd rather they just didn't evaporate at all. For the higher quality (and rarer vials) it makes sense to have them evaporate after a time so different people have a chance at them.

Man, vials and scrolls are too expensive to evaporate now.

I accidentally selected the second option, I meant to vote for removing this.

With the new economy system and the evaporation code, I don't even bother with vials anymore. I used to brew a ton and give them away like candy. Now, I say screw it and do other things.

Vials cost too much, brewing is too much hassle for the reward. It's a kick in the teeth to have mastered brewing, mastered the spell, and still to have no more than 1 in 3 vials brew successfully, and then for them to rot away before you use them???? :(

I can't really afford enough vials to train brew with anyway. And what adds insult to injury is that pre-made potions are cheaper than the empty vials -- if only I could buy those, and empty them, it would be better.

Brew has enough drawbacks (low success rate, blasting yourself for injury on a fail, the damage to armour/weapons unless you brew naked -- which really cramps roleplay for some of us) without the huge initial cost and the short shelf life.

I agree. Brew and scribe have been altered drastically by the recent economic changes. I was under the impression that a person would be able to make a small profit margin on them with this skill. It seems quite the opposite in practice. While they're still useful skills, the economic side is basically that everything in this realm is extremely expensive.

Let's also not forget how easy it is for a mid-level rogue to come in and steal your container with your armor and all your things (which amounts to over 100 or 200lbs) that you're carrying in your inventory. I mean seriously, it's so easy for a thief to run off with several hundred pounds of items without your knowledge.
