This should seriously be looked at because it's absolutely ridiculous.

STR: Herculean

This xxx is a giant-sized xxx made of obsidian.

wear xxx

It is too heavy for you to hold.

Alright, first off a giant should have no problems holding things.. With max strength, they should be able to hold even the heaviest of things. I've run into this problem not only with giants, but with a lot of new characters that I've tried over the years. The strength to hold some materials, especially iron, is absurd. It's to the point that unless a warrior class maxes their strength near the gate, they can't hold a lot of the newbie weapons. Caster classes especially can have problems with this but to a lesser extent. And yes, the race is a giant.

I've not had this problem too much, only with Obsidian weapons to be honest. Because they're heavy as hell.

And with any other race, i'm almost positive if you're a melee class with max str there isn't a weapon that you cannot hold. And if you're a caster, it's easy enough to get a str mod or two.

yeah, i understand obsidian weapons are heavy as hell. But that begs the question, why put them in a shop if they will -never- be utilized because no newbie will ever have the strength to wield them? Especially considering the area is pretty much a newbie area..

Your strength stat may be "titanic" but the actual carrying capacity (strength) grows as you level too. So, you may appear to be of titanic strength FOR YOUR LEVEL. When you grow up a couple of levels more, you will be able to wield it.

Find a weapon that does not weigh over 100 lbs.

All items scale in size exponentially, a medium size obsidian weapon would be perfectly fine for a mercenary/barbarian to wield.

But that weapon is literally over 100 pounds probably. Just not going to happen.

Alright, i'll clarify a bit, sorry.

The weapon was a great axe, a sub type I've been trying to find, but not having much luck because low level ones made out of a material like steel seem to be pretty rare. The character is a giant with naturally maxed strength, at herculean, no mods and veteran level, almost expert, yet is unable to wield the weapon, the only kind I've found that I can get without having to kill a NPC, which he can't for reasons. The ones I've found I've not been able to request cause they're all higher level.

I know this is the part where some people say suck it up and such, but still, why are there obsidian weapons in a newbie area too if most people aren't going to have the strength to wield them? Sure a Human or centaur might because they're medium / large sized, but giants already get screwed enough as is having to resize literally 90% of the stuff sold in shops. Just finding a way to increase it's size was a pain because there were no priests online, then when i get it to the appropriate size, i can't even wear it..It was a bit frustrating. Imo those weapons should be changed to steel or iron..Obsidian is way, way too heavy.

I'm curious about why you keep saying "newbie zone". As far as I know, there isn't any obsidian weapons in any newbie zones or greataxes.

He's talking about a place that's a very early training area in Taslamar. Also, you're size giant, have bash and enhanced damage mastered at the start. For advantages there are disadvantages. Learn to HTFU and deal with the disadvantages presented rather than QQ and asking you're served the game on a silver platter.
