Foremost, walking and automatically picking up herbs is annoying. Especially if you are a weak-strength class, or are forced to walk aroudn with heavy loads.

I, too, would favor an increased in ranged abilities, either overall, or souly for scouts, though I am notriously bias. 2old's right--you lag for 1.5 seconds, and you -do- die. Spellcasters should have to be extra careful anyhow. After all, we've seen what certain sleep-staves can do in the right hands, haha. People shy away from ranged combat for a reason--It's difficult to do. A skilled skirmisher can do some ugly things to the unwitting party, but any able caster will have stone skin, or ethereal, or recall, or maybe even energy armor from their faith.

And ranged combat bypasses sanctuary? Wha? I remember Inzaarid shooting Frollith while he had sanctuary up. Inzy was using iron arrows, and the Jolly was just laughing.

I'll agree with finney. Either staves, or the old ambush skill is enough to kick scouts back into considerable power, if Dulrik deems they are lagging behind other classes.

New skills all geared towards making ranged combat stronger for scouts. That's cool. Remove spear from scouts and I support any additions to their bow skills.

They just need ranged combat strengthened. They don't need spears taken away. The amount of strengthening needed is not as high as Cyra first put but a slight strengthening is in need of order.

[edit] Sorry, Cyra, I meant to say Cannibal

Scouts don't need anything. I'll keep reiterating it.

I'm not going to comment on most of this. The ideas or okay but not likely to be implemented. The only thing I would say Is mystical arrow will neve happen. Scouts are scouts not rangers as Dulrik says and they will never have any magical ability. They have herbs, that's what they get.

To paraphrase: Scouts are fine. L2P.

After having a scout, and knowing what they're capable of, I'll agree that they don't need anything. As for taking away whip - so few classes get whip in the first place - why take it away from scouts, some of who like to rp as tamers (for which the whip fits). Spear, so many spears now aren't even second row reaching. What's the point of taking them away? They already got stripped of polearms. As far as being able to shoot farther away - You want distance? Get the appropriate bow. You shouldn't be able to shoot anyone from four leagues away with a shortbow - that's nonsense. I've leaned back and forth on saying rapid shot could use an adjustment - but I wouldn't pick the version Cannibal describes. And lastly...herbalism CAN use a change, but only to get rid of the redundancy in herbs.

I'd just like to see them migrate towards being more bow focused and thought I'd toss out some ideas I hadn't seen proposed.

I would like to see some classes like the rogue and the shaman as well as a few other not so often played classes brought up to par before something as badass and deadly as a scout gets any tweaks.
