trip can also be used from the second row if you have a weapon that has reach.

bash doesn't connect to the second row.

I'm all in favor of having the bonus damage taken away from bash and trip.

Bonus damage is what mood aggressive is for.

Couldn't it just be easy enough to have bash just lag commands for three rounds without putting a pc or npc into resting position.

This will slow combat down a bit because of less damage being dealt, but it'll also get rid of annoying affects like the victim of a bash gaining inn regen benefits. While it has certainly been welcome in the past for my characters when they were the victims of a bash, it's more of an annoyance to the user of bash than anything else.

Slower combat also = more tictacs.
