Cabals and tribunals work better when leadership falls onto those with leadership qualities; being proactive, creative, charismatic, and so on. I disagree with giving incentives for leaders and leaders alone. However, I agree with the general gist that activity needs to be promoted.

When I first read this thread, I held back from posting right away so I can get some thoughts into it, and I cannot come up with any refreshing ideas other than the Cohort System (Achernar, 07) that's already been suggested. Something similar could be implemented for cabals, tribunals and even religions in that regard, a system that counts raw numbers, disregarding status.

Then again, I am not sure an exclusive system is necessary when Cohort System is implemented. Leaders are usually more known, by natural selection more charismatic (or wouldn't last), and tend to be followed anyway. Thus both the leaders' and their followers' online hours should increase.

Waiting for something to be implemented in SK is of course akin to the wait of Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft expansions.

I always get very [REDACTED] suspicious when Minette pipes up with ideas, because the last one she came up with that was implemented was "No sleeping after killing a NPC".

You would have to try very, very hard in order for me to take up leadership of a cabal or tribunal.

So very hard.

I agree with that. Leaders should get bad [REDACTED] stuff so people actually want to be leaders, perhaps an elite suit of eq that only leaders can wear? Perhaps a special skill that only the leader gets? Different cabals/tribs/religions get different things based on what they're in. This post is brilliant thank you for brining this up.

This topic only mirrors a problem I've been discussing in the Faction Leaders forum for a long time now. Leadership as it is just is not that fun. Its a real job. Game should not equal work. I suggested broadening out some of the responsibilities to make it less work like. Its been an idea that the specifics aren't agreed upon, but the general motion it makes is sound. I also like to think that spreading out the leadership will also be the best solution for cabal tribunal collusions that everyone worries about if dual membership became reality.
