I don't believe this has been true for a long time. There was a period where controls would get their HP lowered once controlled. But then we revised the HP of all NPCs in the game (including undead) downward to meet the same standard. So there should be no effective change in HP for controlled versus non-controlled undead.

There is a significant difference between uncontrolled and controlled undead durability.

What I'd like to see is undead not dropped by no magic rooms. I can understand control, but raise undead shouldn't be canceled by a no magic room. NPC undead don't die there so raised ones shouldn't either. It would be nice if master lvl undead were not one shotted by that spell. Or by Holy Word. Which is rediculous. Because one priest or pally that can tank 6+ undead long enough to cast HW insta wins because all the undead are killed, and controls are instantly set free if not killed.

I would like to see newer kinds of undead too. Or the option to raise a certain kind of undead. Personally I would love to just go and raise a GM zombie to tank for me. Also there are so many other kinds of undead in the game it doesn't make sense you can't make them, somehow they got there so there should be new explanations.

Didn't HW just got gimped and now you have to really cast it 2 or 3 times to truly get rid of a necro's pets?

I've double checked a few undead like Varloch and he seems the same regardless of controlled or uncontrolled. Give me names of undead who you think aren't right and I will investigate.

I've noticed a difference with the banespirit and the vampire priest. Not bothered with absyrros (sp?) and myrvaeln (sp?) ghouls enough, but they might be worth checking also.

The main tactic for sessprians now isn't to just attack with them, it's to release their control in a room with people that don't have death shroud up. That way they can use their scripts to hurt them more, and they will chase them...

Personally I'd like a GM barbarian undead NPC. Not wraiths. Something like a sessprian or a blood wight, but that can fury. Sorta like the desert wights...but something you can actually bring back out or summon.

It was mentioned a while ago that it would be great for necromancers that when they raised a body it comes back as that race and class. For example, A giant ghoul scout or a sprite swashi skeleton. They would keep their race abilities and skill they had up to 1/2 of their level. There would have to be some limitations like the scouts undead cannot tame, skin or fletch and other classes with special abilities that can make things.

Now I am sure there is going to be a bunch of you that will say "but that will make them to powerful". Guess what they were taken out to the back of the barn last year and shot in the head and were given a Flintstones band-aid to cover up the hole.

They used to raise ARMIES of undead. Thats what the help file says (said). Now sure they can have a large group still but the average necro will not do that. Concentration is to high even after 15 animates. Also equipping them (with good enchanted armor and weapons mind you) when you have little allies all the time can get extremely tricky. You may say the 15 is high and I would agree with you only if there weren't so many ways of dispelling and destroying an undead.

Maybe a better whimp to the necros would be a group limit, like only 8 (7 if necro has a pet) undead in your group. Anything more and you would get a message like your group is full. At least give a necromancer a waring stating that zombie f1 is about to turn back into a corpse much like the warlocks should get one before their elemental leaves.

Holy word (unless I missed an announcement) has not changed. One will kill a group of undead, or at the very least cripple it enough to easily kill the necro and watch them all drop like flys.

In my opinion Holy word and Bolt of Glory should only be accessible to the High Followers of the religion. Why because they are the people that will interact with the said god more often then the lowly ones (yes there are exceptions) and are the ones that truly deserve it. I mean the high followers do not really get any bonuses for being a high follower (anyone in the faith can wear the armor no matter what the HF says), I think they should be given BoG and HW as a reward for being the HF.

Dunno if this even pertains to this whole necromancer discussion. But I tried playing a necro and it was the hardest class I have -ever- played. definately not for beginners unless you enjoy pain. I've never died so much on a character. I made it to mentor before I couldnt take anymore punishment. Was a great opportunity to learn the necropolis though.
