That was just one kill. I tried to RP my way out of getting reported too, but the lighties that caught me were being dicks about it. It really gets worse if you get caught by someone invis/hidden who's following you around just to rack up the crime list on you.

It rates very high on the lameness list.

The archery butts are no longer a leveling option, as they have the helpless effect. You can't shoot into the quarry anymore either, leaving you with only hit and run tactics, and the sprite ranger might have the helpless effect as well.

Let's not prove the point that we're all twinks by only listing the hacker leveling areas.

Just walk in and fight the sprite rangers, that's what I've always done.

Focus, please. The primary request is for area names. If you want to explain about certain NPCs in the area or repop times, that's fine. The primary goal here is that imms will take action to give you goals to fulfill in the area with quests that you will perform in conjunction with levelling. The request is that you already list areas that you consider indispensable for levelling, so while we might make a few tweaks regarding NPC classes or repop time, that's not the focus.

While I understand the previous post, let me just quickly sneak this in:

Most players will wait with quests until a high level, simply because they are more worthwhile then. So it'll probably just leave the mindless grinding like it is and cut abit off the top of the leveling game, because players as well want more bang for their quest-buck.

This touches on my comment on the "elephant" thread about the unbelievable level of difficulty that exists in finding a number of quests that would be considered good for leveling. As it stands now, the few possible to find get saved until the last levels because it saves ten or more hours of grinding in hard to reach places.

This is all from a lightie's perspective.

Chancel - The only time it isn't completely repetitive is when you walk into the swamp boa, who immediately rapes you in the face despite being -lower- level than the NPCs you can kill 15 of without even having to rest. Great, sitting in the river isn't boring at all. Added onto this is the fact that for many lighties, it's one of the last places accessible for solo leveling, so you end up leveling way through the "red zone" of familiarity if you can't find a group.

I don't have many gripes about places being boring in and of themselves, because once you get into a "groove," gaining levels isn't quite so horrible. the problem is that there's no middle ground: If you can't get a group of 3 people together (Speaking for lighties here) to train at master-champion, there's nowhere to go at all. I'd rather at least have some place where it's possible to level without having to find a group of 3 or more. These places used to exist, but they were changed to make end-game leveling harder (At least, that's the only reason I can see). The two places I am thinking of specifically are the Tribal grounds and the Pits of Az'pook.

Tribal Grounds - These NPCs used to not be grouped, now they are, and as such, it's impossible to level solo, unless you plan on killing the same grey-aura near GM barbarian NPCs repeatedly, which will typically involve a lot of resting in between fights. You need a group of 3 or more.

Pits of Az'pook: These NPCs used to be easier(I think) and not aggro, and now they're rapacious and angry, and -completely- impossible to solo. It's even hard if you -do- manage to get a group of 3 together.

Owyran: If you're lucky you'll find one patrolling solo NPC. Otherwise you have to have a group of 3 or more.

Lower Morea: Good leveling... if you can find a group of 3 or more. The undead NPCs give -horrible- exp for their level, or so it seems.

Starting to notice a trend? As a lightie, once you hit mentor, you have to either A) Find a group of 3 or more, or B) go to the Chancel or Tlaxcala. Those are your only real choices. I've got no problem with the fact that leveling areas exist that are ideal for groups, but if the only option is to find higher levels to carry you around, inconveniencing them, or to twiddle your thumbs hoping and praying two people that share your level and similar mindset show up, that sucks. I would just really like for more than one area in the entire game where a lightie can still level after master without having to find a balanced group of 3 or more, especially with the familiarity code, which only makes it take -that- much longer to eke out those last couple levels if no one else feels like tanking and/or healing for you while you level.

That said, my choices again.

Chancel - boring because you're stuck there for so long, and the only real challenge (swamp boa) goes berserk and bashes your face.
Tribal Grounds - 3 or more people*.
Pits of Az'pook - 3 or more people*.
Owyran - 3 or more people*.
Lower Morea - 3 or more people*.

(*) Two of which must be a tank and a healer.

1. Chancel, everyone dark or light, essentially -has- to go there, and as the priests are all grouped, they are in essence, forced to level on only the lean and stumpy guys when solo. The chancel becomes much more interesting at a higher level when you're there to actually face the bosses, but for leveling it's rather dull.

2. Elisair palace, everyone kills ranger, it's what you do, you kill rangers and then wait for them to repop, incredibly dull.

3. Tlaxcala, you kill mages, and wait for them to repop, or you kill priests and wait for them to repop, you're basically confined in about a 20 room circle no matter which you choose to kill. Not to mention they're all either priests or mages, and annoying as hell to kill between being blinded, charmed, and having your equipment melted, or being confused into other NPCs. It's pretty much the -main- place to level at master solo as well, the game could really use another solo master level zone.

Why on earth do you need 3 people in Morea? Are you leveling on fytrysks or something? *boggles*

Everything worth leveling on, priests/necros/nyogthas/mummies, are -easily- solo'd.
