Uh, it's a game. Just make it so that you get executed instantly/looted everywhere, instead of having to spend massive amounts of time doing nothing.

If your not willing to do the time don't do the crime. How fair would it be if you went and killed a PC then was arrested for it only to not spend a single tick in the jail.

I would only suggest one thing to the legal system. If you are going to be spending 5 IRL hours in jail you should have the option to pay your way out. For example one day in jail is an obsidian. If your into the 100 day sentece you can pay the 50 obsidian. The reason I set it so high is that getting coin in this game is very easy.

Why do you complain when you know you are in the wrong Syndal? Don't want to go to jail? Don't go to killing in cities.

You guys are morons. This is a game of fantasy where conflict has to occur.

The law system and the guards prevent fun from happening. You ARE supposed to kill in cities.

The law is there so you don't get repeatedly steamrolled in your own city.

If someone killed me and then got all their loot taken by a guard, I'd consider us even.

Except when most people go surrender, they go naked with an empty bank account.

The law IS there to discourage people from killing in cities. I'd rather people did their PK away from the protection of the law. Cities are a place that should be relatively safe compared to the wilderness or some dungeon.

You just want the punishment to be death? Obviously that's no punishment at all. They'll just get raised by their friend and be rolling again in 5 minutes. Making you wait the time is the real punishment, which is why it's hated.

As for this exploit, please don't make me waste time making it so the guards beat you unconscious if you attempt to kill someone else while in jail. That would be another gigantic waste of my time, but I could do it.

Or you have them shackled and unable to perform any physical action. I know for a fact it's not hard to cancel out certain types of commands in a room.

What about limiting jail time for killing NPCs? How about more limb amputations, monetary, and item fines instead of time in prison? A lot of NPCs are killed in law protected areas without having anything to do with PK.

How about varying the punishment based on whether you surrendered or not?
A few suggestions:
Surrendered, naked, no money on person or in bank - Obviously destitute, remains in jail after sentence until bailed by a friend. (Who has to pay more than Bubba wants to pay to keep you )
Surrendered, equipped - as now, but with shorter sentence.
Had to be taken down - As now, but a shorter, sharper punishment of some kind.

And fines that are limited in scope, so if you have a lot of money, you can pay the fines, plus have money left over to bribe the judge or guards to give you a shorter sentence. (Would make a fun script)

Lol. You are so backwards and hypocritical. What do we do when someone hordes?

You say, and I quote, kill them. So. Uh. If cabals and cities are so protected...uh...?

Yeah, that's what I thought. No, sk is not fun when everyone is chummy with each other. That's what we call a 'mush'. You aren't running a mush, you are running a mud.

feel free to change it, but until you stop advertising this place as a place of tactics and unrestricted pk, I'd find a solid position and stick to it.

No, it makes us hate the game. Jail time is [REDACTED]. You kill someone and get a day in jail? Either be stupid and make it years or pull it out and return the death mark system. You already have spirit disorientation that lasts forever. How much more do you want to stack the odds against the darkies? Tell us where you see evil/dark in the game and what they should be doing in your vision.

Ever hear of shanking a fellow prisoner?
