Wasn't that done already? Did Dulrik ever make any changes based on that?

I don't think so. I emailed him a much more comprehensive document I made, I don't know whether he found it useful or not however.

If subtypes change their stats now, ppl will [REDACTED] again. Remember how much ppl bitched when trident was wimped back then? They cried they lost one spec and stuff and even wanted their spec to be reset so they could choose a new subtype.

That's why with anything this large, you start with small changes. If they [REDACTED] that certain subtypes are no more elite, then tough. No subtype should be elite. To me, each subtype should reflect on the most likely user of the weapon and then look at the dmg/rnd. Obviously, staffs will still be the weakest of the weapons, but any two swords should deal on average, same amount of dmg/rnd.

I really would like weapons to have other nifty things like: bonus to disarm, trip, etc.

Unparryable weapons have a bonus to disarm, though I agree with having more bonuses like that added.

And if subtypes are fine tuned, which I hope they will be, every merc in the game should be able to re-spec.

Make a bonanza and add a re-spec to one weapon option or so. Should fix the crying.

Oh yea. I forgot to mention that the whole sub-type thing needs a revision. How about adding some flexibility to each respective subtype? Giving the builders the rights to up or down the dmg, speed, acc a few notches? Would make the game versatile again as back before sub-types, yet keep the versatility that sub-types brought. Best of two realms!

Not sure that would be a good idea at this point in time with how melee damage is.

Personally, I'd like to see more done with Shields and Armor.
