I still throw daggers when I level btw.

Not exactly the same thing, but...Shooting arrows takes a ridiculous amount of PE. I don't know if it's just because arrows take longer to kill things or what(meaning more attacks). But use a bow for any sort of long period and you will be out of PE in like 4 fights.

Assuming I were playing the game again, and I were playing a caster, I might have done a fair amount of levelling with large size daggers, during the lower level range. Second attack + decent str + large size daggers = a surprising amount of damage = a surprising amount of levelling without need of rest and recuperation. So... Maybe you're doing it wrong?
