I fought a zakami beastie outside Nerina for literally twenty minutes once from this very situation. Very annoying.

It is possible to void out while in combat. I see this as the most self sufficient solution, but pray should be your first consideration. Ask others for help?

I prefer the TELL and WHO list solution, it would even create RP in most instances

Immortal intervention would only solve the symptom each time, not the root cause once and for all.

A better fix would be to have ME bottom out at 1% for any character below journeyman level. That way newbies don't get stuck fighting zakamis for X amount of time.

Then, once you hit journeyman, it can give you an in-game warning after logging in (much like the paragon screen, but only showing once instead of on every log-on). The 1% won't help newbies move wherever they want forever due to their low PE generally, but it will help avoid combat loops that will make newbies delete and leave the game in frustration.

Saying "lol send a tell" is not a good response. People don't always think of that, and if you have to send a tell to get someone to help you out of an annoying ooc situation, you'd probably rather play a different game than try to force a conversation with people you may not know.

I like this answer coming from an imm and the lack of contradiction on this point from the next imm. In this instance, the letter of the law will be overlooked for the spirit of the law and of the game. Archie and Al get kudos for that.

There's nothing wrong with disappearing into the void. You aren't entering commands. Doing it purposefully puts you kind of at a disadvantage mostly. I don't see how that's even against the rules.
