This is silly. My scout, back in the day, could give you the name, appearance, location and effects of any and every herb you asked about.
You know how?

I had experience.

If you want to be the knowledgeable sensei of herbs, you should spend a little time to get to know them.

I agree completely. Put some effort into it! People will respect you for it.

Then they'll OOCly ask you for a list.

I was fortunate to have a great mentor that actually gave me a lesson on all the herbs.

Well, see, there is "Sativa" and then there is "Indica". Sativa tends to be taller and a darker shade of green. It also tends to exude a more "skunky" smell. Indica, on the other hand, is native to the Americas (Sativa was actually first introduced to the western hemisphere by explorers like Christie Columbus) and tends to be shorter with skinny leaves.

Now, I may have switched these two up, but in no way should that indicate a lack of veteran status.

Liya, by chance? She was awesome about such things.

An herb lore might be handy, but apart from Liya's teachings, Rosa was a fan of the eat-it-and-find-out school of herbalism. Makes for great stories, especially when tested in company. Berries, anyone?

A man did once eat a berry;
his companions made quite merry.
For once it was swallowed,
His pants did get hollow -
And his face - red as a berry.

What about ...

"His pants did get hollow
And he found that suddenly he had no ability to parallel park."

I thought that Scouts already had this. I don't usually jump on the buffwagon, but this should just be a part of the scout's profession. Though eventually, when you lore a certain thing enough times, you (the player) will come to know it by heart.

being someone that played a young scout- that book was 'decent' but it was only half [REDACTED] helpful, it was long winded, had to learn exile's language just to read it. having a herbal lore would be great-
i like that idea bout them making potions to!

if not herbable lore, maybe they can 'taste' them. You know a tiny bite. and then suddenly you are like 'gee, that tingled my toes, obviously this would make me sleep for hours if i ate it'

Or, learn your written languages, newb.
