SEE: auto surrender
Thank you, lol. I know all about auto surrender. That is one of the things I set when I create a character, usually depending on it's aura.
My point was that not retaliating to a law official would give one the option to flee if need be, without harming the guard. This could also apply to being assaulted while in a city that has laws against assault. If someone were to attack you in front of a guard, and you did NOT retaliate, no mugging or murder charges could be pressed. This would leave a great deal of options for not only the attacker, but the defender as well. Does one continue the fight and take all the heat for the crime of assault/murder? Do you wait for the person to retaliate? Do you turn yourself to mode stun? It gives one a great deal more to think about when just attacking someone while within the borders of a city who has laws against these things.
Now, granted this would perhaps require some tweaking of the codes for the law system. Not to mention you would perhaps have to tailor said options for each city's laws if they have any. Nonetheless, having the change there would still make a great deal of sense. Whether it came down to either RP or PK, it would be very nice to have.
I also like the idea someone mentioned earlier to add melee to the stop command effects so one would have the option to just stop attacking in mid battle if they so choose. Something tells me that there might be a flaw to that idea, though.
