Oh man.... why do claws suck so hard. SO MUCH SUCKINESS!

Claws and MR are the signature abiliies of the barb. And they suck beyond compare.

Barbs could be so fun if they played like the helpfile suggests.

Since when?

There was a time not too long back where Paddah beat up Veret using his bare hands in any case.

I loved claws when I played Braxis. They're definitely sucktacular compared to other weapons in most situations (Especially without haste and fury), but against swashbucklers especially they're pretty nice. I remember tearing through Sakim ( a no-dachi specced merc) with some claws once with reckless abandon (Though, I think I was almost completely buffed up at the time and he wasn't quite so prepared, plus they were cold-iron claws and he was a half-elf). I did pretty well against Halven, a swashbuckler, also.

Claws are totally awesome: Just very situational.

Yeah. The signature equipment of the wild-fighting man is only useful against non-existent swashies. That sucks.

I would prefer they were downgraded from "totally awesome against that one class no one plays" to "awesome" in pve.

My gut tells me that they're useful against high-accuracy specced mercs too, but I'm not positive.

I was just thinking about how silly the whole claws vs swashy arguemnt is. I then recalled that the only swashy I can remember at all was Jerin back in like 2000 or 2001. I think his swashy was actually named Jerin too.

Anyway. Carry on.

Magical resistance, typically the least desired of all enchantments on armor or jewelry: Having MR gives you a chance to resist any spell cast at you, whether beneficial or harmful. The more MR, the higher chance you have. It's a two-edged sword, and more often than not people don't prefer it at all: But some people prefer to wear so much MR that spells don't affect them at all.

Barbarians have the unique ability to train MR like a stat, which in essence gives them permanent MR "enchantments" on themselves that they can't turn off except with a skill that also totally incapacitates them.

Does MR mitigate the magical part of attacks from weapons that do damage reported as 'shocking bite', 'deadly wrath', sonic attacks. etc?
