Elf is fine in my opinion. The only thing that should be changed is that they get to be males. I have never seen anything but a female elf in the game.

Pshaw, both Heldorian and Lynard where equiped with penises.

Hrm, mercenaries and cha. Because of rallying cry, or just because of retreat? And are we even sure the stat affects those two? Consider this post completely off topic btw, just me satisfying my curiosity.

Charisma Package:
- New Questions in Hall of Creation
- Charisma used to determine bonus to/reduction of XP
- Skills modifications to leadership, horsemanship,
intimidation, retreat, haggle, peek, disguise, tame
- Spell mods to charm, domination, seance, exorcism
- Ability to order affected by Charisma

Which, doesn't seem to contain rallying cry.

I have no clue about rallying cry, I would guess no, but charisma definitely affects retreat.

That wouldn't contain Rallying Cry, as I believe it came after, but it seems like the type of skill that would have been based off cha.

Charisma does affect rallying cry. It may have been added at a later date than the update post that was quoted.

I would hope that high charisma from like say an elf merc, does not give bonuses on par with berserk, because that would just be flat out crazy.

Due to the way concentration is setup in the game, especially for sorcerer class, it requires a moderate concentration on charm person, a slight on mirror image, and a few slights on others, they quickly run out of concentration to play efficiently in PvP with 22 int. My first character in SK was an Elf Sorc. I always fathomed Elf Sorc and jumped at the first chance to play one in a fantasy game.

But Elf Sorc and other 22 int races just have a lot of inconveniences to the point it takes the experience away. When I finally got to try Human Sorc, having that extra point in int makes a world of difference. It is so huge. A big relief of fresh air.

It is similar to centaurs before they got leg armor - everyone knew to aim lower and lol'd at centaurs. Giant warlock that couldn't make an elemental until age tick. Before the recent change, aim upper for minotaurs and type in "lol" at them. Paladin had only the parry skill but no dodge for so long. To this day, griffons are nearly always still barbarians instead of mercenaries.

The truth of the matter is, even if Elf gets 23 int, players who want to play the sorcerer class among others would still find Deep-elf favorable. The end-game doesn't just stop at 23 int. Getting hit by spells such as Harm or Magma would cause "That really did hurt!" message and cause a concentration drop. Getting taunted cause concentration drop. Holding multiple spells and still being able to use trinkets require more concentration. 24 int Deep-elf was already godlike in that regard, now they have 25.

Currently the majority of PvP players who want to play Sorc as Light/Gray aura play Human, because they know the 22 int difficulties. There is no choice, no diversity. Yet, Human is susceptible to Voodoo. I recently watched a Human Sorc get decimated by Voodoo 3-4 times in an hour. Therefore following the train of thought - don't play a Sorc that gets into PvP, or just don't play the game? Either of those are not ideal.
