Barbarians should know how to survive. They aren't likely to wait for a rabbit to sneak up on them and counterattack a tentative sniff to kill it. They would use a sling to kill it before it would get a chance to run.

Actually thats how a barbarian would kill that rabbit, from range.

I agree with the sling +1 room range idea though

Barbs don't need range. They like to get up close and personal with the person they are killing.
