It makes no sense for intimidate to only work if a hellion is leading.

If a hellion is leading a group, and is so scary that my blood freezes inside of me and I can't bring myself to attack him, then dang, that's scary.

However, if that same hellion is actually in a group and letting someone else lead? Holy crap, that means that whoever's leading is probably even worse!

Erego, intimidate should actually be more effective if the hellion isn't leading.

Ok one more time it is not the mechanics of how it works on the hellion, only when it extends to the entire group.

But the other person lacks the unholy presence and this is my argument, nobody else in the group has the unholy presence, why is it extended to them?

That argument also lends to my "it shouldn't work unless he is the leader" due to the fact if he is SO powerful, why would he defer his power to another's judgement?

If the intimidation only applied to the hellion, and not to their group, then you could completely bypass the skill by doing things like attacking their pet.

Just get some willpower enchantments.

tl;dr If Chuck Norris is scary, then Chuck Norris + his dog is just as scary if not moreso.

lol @ eddy

Intimidate is already pretty useless against anything other than NPCs. It doesn't need a wimp.

Depends is chuck norris leading the dog or the dog leading chuck norris? Chuck norris becomes rather amusing when led by a mongrel.

The only problem that has existed with intimidate is that hellions used to have the ability to sit in the third row and spam spells with no ranged weapon on: Effectively keeping them "out of combat" so that every single action taken against the group had to pass an intimidate check.

I'm not sure whether or not this problem has been addressed with the combat code changes.

Spidermonkey,

It is you who is missing the point. Entirely. Intimidate works the way it was designed. Your suggestion are stupid because they eliminate the ability. If were were to implement your suggestions we may as well throw out the intimidate ability.

Get some willpower.
