Curious then, would it be better if many of the scripts on the god-like lewt was removed, or attached to a set. Then slightly lower gear, where there are more than one, could have a lower powered version of said script? (maybe even attached to a set)

This poll does not have the option that I want.

I'm not against scripted loot, but it should be like the infernal halberd, or Somnium's kit/Lord Ephialtes kit. You have to work to get it. Right now we have gobs of phat scripted loot in walking distance of starting cities. Somnium's and Ephialtes' kits are complete trash for this reason alone when you can piece together a far better suit for far less trouble. Personally, I don't see what the trouble is with making just a diamond shield, but no, it has to cast GM shield(or at least close) to entice people to want it! These former mentioned bosses certainly have their items diminished in the face of other loot I can point to, especially since you have to wear the entire kit.

I dunno, I feel that something being made out of adamantite is a good enough perk for it to be useful. Everything else you should have to get by farming coin to pay for it, or brewing/enchanting/scribing. God forbid we have to be social, and rely on others. This seems to come up every few years though, as imms try to outdo each other's phat lewt.

Also I swear if I see another [REDACTED] prone escape etherealform amulet... *fistshake*

They are intending to nerf the IC/Nightmare/etc stuff. (The halberd in particular, currently on the level of completely losing RE, which is understandable, but also lowering the level of MI and then still requiring the whole suit from what I hear.) Which is why I voted for just get rid of it all. Why have scripted eq at all, if you're going to nerf the HARDEST items to get in the game?

I'm not going to go gank GGI (a trip that can easily lead to your group of 5+ pcs completely losing all their eq) for a SUIT that gives like level 20 MI. Sorry. I'll just save myself the hassle and deal with normal eq that can actually be enchanted and whatever abilities my class has.

Not sure a hellion should get mirror image anyway! I'd agree with removing resist elements from it, but I don't care about the rest of the scripts. My only real caveat with the weapon is that it can be removed, and the scripted spells remain. Reporting that would have been useless when I had it though, seeing as most imms don't do anything. So, you'll probably see the halberd wimped in 10 years time giving the rate the current imms are seeing to things.

I believe there was a change years ago, that /all/ scripted items are supposed to require you keep them on.

Also another problem with a lot of scripted stuff is the completely negligible costs to sue them. The halberd for example completely rapes your mana pool, whereas other things like the detection cloaks drain 10% mana, and there are 15 of them.

Yeah, after reading the comments, I wish I could edit the poll to be more accurate.

I voted yes with an exception of scripts like mana/hp regen and eq that auto repairs.

I agree with this 100%. Scripted gear is fine, as long as it's actually difficult to get to: But there's all kinds of elite loot that's WAY easy to get where builders clearly just got jacked up on speed and were like YO DAWG I HERD YO LIKE SHIELDS SO I PUT A SHIELD SCRIPT IN YO SHIELD SO YO CAN SHIELD WHILE YO SHIELD, DAWG.

Nerfing the IC stuff sounds like the worst possible idea in this department. The Infernal Halberd is arguably the hardest piece of equipment to get in the entire game, and it carries an obscene amount of risk and requires a lot of player interaction. There should be -incentives- to get that stuff. It's not like it gives you etherealform on command or anything either.

I like what Sargas said about item sets. I wouldn't complain one bit if people had to choose between the good armor and the scripted armor. Most GM light-armored characters will only wear mithril or dragonscale, but that set of Heron armor, which grants a few buffs, is bronze. I'd like to see more of this, maybe some Tanso steel with neat things, take away some of the scripts from the better armor, and throw them on crap armor. Make people choose.

lol, why would you remove scripts, but leave sacred eq intact, that is dumb

The perk of the sacred equipment. Also, RPwise, much harder to hoard.

In what way is sacred armor hard to hoard?

Step 1: Get a symbol
Step 2: Get the gear
Step 3: Log off

I would argue that it is easier to hoard the sacred gear than any other gear.
