I know, because I've done it, and it's also happened to multiple other players. It greatly weakens the effect of the law on players who know how to game the system.

Ahh, I did not know the system already worked that way. It seems to me like with this function, you should be able to keep people from abusing this tactic. They might get away with it once or twice, but not repeatedly, is how I look at it. Then again, I am definitely no expert on this kinda thing. *shrug*

Do what that gilgon's centaur did with charm scrolls and abuse the poopy out of it. That way we know for sure.

Then you turn yourself in.

Repeat ad nauseum.

Banishment requires you to be wanted for many crimes, but if you turn yourself in, you're not wanted for those crimes anymore.

I think that's where Spooky is misunderstanding the issue. Stun, steal, turn self in, and you're left with no crimes on your rap sheet, and therefore, you'll never get banished.

No, no, I totally get it. It just seems like a lot of trouble to go through time and again is all. But like I said, I'm not the sort of person to use a tactic like that. Also, stunning people is more difficult than killing people is it not? So there's a bit of trade-off. Also, you're bound to rack up extra crimes as you're going around serial mugging people so it doesn't seem like something you could do forever.

It just seems to me like it's not a particularly rampant problem, is all I'm saying. But I also admit I'm too lazy to be an effective twink.

How so? You are unwanted in Exile. You walk in to the inn. You fight a guy mode stun and stun him. You take all of his things. You quaff word.

At this point, battery and theft. Do something here to get your stuff safe from being lost. Turn yourself in. Spend a little bit of time in jail. All crimes are gone.

You are right. It doesn't happen often. That's not the point. This is like knowing you are leaving a huge flaw in a system design that could fairly easily be taken advantage of, and not caring. Worked out well for the Death Star.

It just doesn't seem, to me, like a Death Star level design flaw (lol) but point well-taken.

But, even mugging and attempted mugging having monetary/equipment fines right? So you have to be absolutely sure, every time, that you only kill the one person and turn yourself in right away. I mean it's possible, obviously, just only in specific scenarios and seems like it could be a pain in the [REDACTED] if it goes wrong.

The Death Star in this scenario isn't SK. It's the player's experience with the game that just got stunned and full looted. Not only was he stunned and full looted, but the person who did it gets away with it with minor inconvenience compared to what it should be. It isn't fair, he'll think, and he may stop playing because of this one simple unfairness. His experience was just completely and utterly destroyed by a little hole that could be patched up. It wouldn't get him his gear back, but the person would be banished, and this is fair in the eyes of some, maybe most. Haven't really tallied it up yet, myself. This fairness might keep him in the game, which is most likely a good thing, unless he becomes Syn/Adroan or something.

That was extremely compelling. I was left with a horrible mental picture of a man being raped by a tiny x-wing fighter.

This should be fixed immediately.

You know, in real life, when someone gets a sentence like thieft, battery, or murder? The sentence stays on their record, like, forever? There is no clean slate. You do it, and when its over, you've still done it, and it remains on your record. Getting a job? Getting married? Wanna drive a school bus with snot nosed little brats?

Forget about it...
