Priests have spells that bash their opponents?

You just compared shamans to scouts. Now you're comparing them to priests. So now they're priest/scouts with good maledictions.

Dude, shamans rock.

They currently do but they are not the best tank. There are better tanks depending on the situation. In fact, depending on the situation, priests are better tanks. For protection spell is super leet.

Protection is the only thing that possibly gives priests a higher rating than shamans. For all-round usability, shamans toast the crap out of them.

Plus they get axes.

I think I just remembered something, it might of been that SA doesn't stack with Sanc anymore. I forgot which but they got a wimp due to the new stacking rules

Shamans are incredible tanks, I don't know what you're talking about, Muktar. Even if they do not get protection to soak up additional damage from opposed alignments, there are enough herbs/potions they can just eat/quaff.

It is also quite beyond me why people think that the key power of shamans is voodoo. Sure, if you want to build an otherwise weak character who only serves as a voodoo cannon and tries dropping people from some secure location, it might be. I've been playing my shaman for over a year and I've only ever used the spell once. Didn't even bother advance training it.

Spirit aura may not be soaking up as much damage as it did before, but it sure as hell returns quite a bit. Sanctuary is an overall great spell to have. If you are having concentration issues during melee, it is why you have vials/herbs for. They can cast just about every malediction, the casting times of which are minimal and make quite a difference in battles, (especially against NPCs.) They can heal themselves effectively, although their mana pool is not tremendous, but heck, I can think of about ten items that can help you bypass that. The game is full of mana batteries. They can bash down opponents with spirit horde, which also deals quite a bit of damage. They can use shields, which is a huge bonus with the new mood changes. On top of all that they can brew and they get instant transportation means.

So uhm..

Pardon me if I think that whoever complains about shamans, is out of their mind.

Okay, I did extensive testing on SA's return damage. It is a shittasktic amount of damage. I didn't say they sucked, I am saying they aren't this uber tank thing that everyone thinks. They aren't the best tanks, they are good, but they aren't the best.

Do you even play a shaman? They get zero instant transportation abilities. I don't know what you are even talking about Lolth.

[edit] unless you are talking about instant return home. Which is really good.

I am talking about WoR. Gods.

No, Muktar. I am not playing a shaman, I spontaneously decided to talk out of my [REDACTED].

I'd just like to add here Muktar, that the shaman Lolth mentions here is without a doubt the toughest tank I've ever seen on SK, and that's with what... 7 years under my belt?

Paladin: More HP, Better Armor, Same Protective spells(not counting SA since it doesn't stack with xxx), better weapons, more attacks, no maledictions, better in combat damaging spells.

light armor priest: Same hp, Same or better armor(scale w/MV), Same or better protective spells(depending on circumstance), worse weapons, same attacks, no maledictions, better in combat damaging spells.

hvy armor priest: Better armor, rest is the same.

First, stop talking about the protective measure of SA. Its dmg absorbtion doesn't stack with something else. Okay, the paladin only sucks compared to the shaman because he doesn't have maledictions. The rest the pallie is generally better or the same at least. Paladins are better tanks.

I don't say anything about Hellions because I heard they aren't that good at tanking. In compared to priests, it is a toss up or depends on situation.

Now, like I said, that means they are good tanks, but not the best.
