Right now, if I read it correct, all three enmity files are nothing but quotes without so much as a statement saying "These are among the accepted thoughts on the elven situation. Your roleplay should validate one or more of these ideas."

"It is a rite of passage in some of the Ch'zzrym Houses for a young deep elf
to go out in the world and return with the scalp of an elf. It thus binds the
young ones closer to their House, and perpetuates the eternal cycle of
conflict and revenge..."

"You see the seeds of redemption in the heart of this creature? I disagree.
So let us then slay him and commit his spirit to the care of the gods. They
shall know their own."

"For the cause of good I must commit violence against those that are evil. As
one must lance an infected boil, so must one purge the deep elves from the
realms."

My favorite?

Hey, you're the one that asked for "the accepted thoughts" and since half of those are quotes of elves the IMMs decided were worthy of a help file...

I'd personally rather see people asking why elves and delves are forced-aura rather than why they have enmity in the first place. One causes the other and this isn't nearly as complicated as a "chicken and the egg" argument. It's like asking why the Hammer and the Adepts couldn't be buddy buddy with each other.

I think it's bizarre that a compassionate elf gets in major trouble for rezzing deep-elves when she thought religion could overrule emnity (cursable, yes, but not to this extent - I still think this was acceptable RP) and Halela's character gets completely IMM-wiped with NO warning for not playing "scrupulous" enough, but Amschel gets knighted/rewarded/F2/leadership BY IMMS (after players refused to do it..) for attacking NPC paladins and random people of grey aura for no reason.

Wow. Way to make someone not want to play SK, Jennbo.

I think they're going for elf/drow enmity, however, where the two are basically designed to hate one another with absolutely no questions asked, even if they were orphaned in the woods, never knowing another elf in their life. The elf culture thing does kind of mention that the weaker the blood gets the more they're able to stand deep elves, so maybe it's genetic? It's still pretty clear that even the most common elf is still completely unable to befriend a delf, though.

Play a half elf if you want to dance the thin, gray line, I guess.

pardon me if i'm missing something, but when did she get in "major" trouble?

ladyjennbo wrote:

she had tons of warning, which could be filed under "she should have known better", kind of like an elf should know better than to rez delfs. in that sense, they both have all the warning they need.

but please, let's continue pretending these characters are martyrs to the cause of poor RP.
