Only thing I'll say is this. If MR barbs are going to be immune to spells, they should be immune to ALL spells be they beneficial or otherwise. That means no cabal spells or anything. As a warlock I've ran into many griffon Hammarbs with full MR and a certain spell that I can't even magma them because of that certain cabal SPELL.. Absolutely nothing can be done if I'm alone. If thematically you are going to make them immune to magic, then they should resist all magic indiscriminately. Just my 2 cents. Wonder how tough they'd be if they suddenly lost the ability to make themselves unable to be bashed.

Doesn't that certain spell require them to lower their own resistance? If so, it takes preparation for them to get it on.

Self-only spells spells ignore MR when they're cast.

This should change in my opinion. You shouldn't be fully magic resistant and still have beneficial spells of any kind. There should be a trade off. Want l337 cabal spell buffs? Then don't roll MR. Everything else should be fine since they're skills, but spells should be a no go. Both lorewise it makes 0 sense since it's magic and they're supposed to resist any and all magic. This is evidenced by the fact that they resist simple detection spells as well as detrimental spells like curse etc.

Seems like you're just frustrated that you can't c magma at everything and win. Wouldn't you have a similar complaint about a well enchanted barbarian who was invincible to it?

You have a lot of options when dealing with an MR barb that has one of the several spells available to MR characters on them, including the easiest one which is to cast invis and laugh as he flails uselessly around looking for you.

No, patrisaurus, if Kin and/or Ardith get beat by something, it's clearly OP, don't you know?

It is a little bit difficult to understand what Kin is trying to argue.

So self-only spells should NOT ignore MR? But then you go on to argue against that. It is almost as if you are too upset to make a coherent argument.

Anyway, Kin, there are plenty of ways around an MR barbarian who has found a way to make himself immune to magma.
