Many of the staves available cover what the scrolls give. Area-of-effect too.

Uhh, except scrolls have a completely different purpose than staves do and can be scribed.

For serious its a totally overpowered ability. I think about half the time people get voodoo killed they have 0 capacity to hit the shaman back.

Yeah Voodoo is kinda stupid, you attack someone, they flee with low HP, then voodoo them...

So, why aren't we getting rid of petrification and/or finger of death? Those are instant death spell. But I don't see a cry for them to be removed. In STFU's example. That is a perfect use of it.

Voodoo can be cast from across the world, often with 0 chance of death to the shaman. IE, early morning or late night. Yes, you can be prepared for it, but good luck. Theres no more perma sanc cloaks, and many classes dont have any capacity to get spells up other than quaffing. What are you gonna do, continually quaff sanc vials for the entire time your online?


Its sad that I need to even point this out but, Fod and Petrify have saving throws, thats why nobody is complaining about them. Give voodoo a saving throw to let people half-resist it, and then it will be fair.
