Haven't played in some years.

The most pressing issue that keeps me from playing is the time sink required. This is primarily related to enchanting. Requiring a lot of time creating useful gear makes people less likely to take risks and instead to go for clear superiority in combat. IF you lose, the frustration of losing all that time just wasn't worth it to me anymore.

As I have gotten older, married, and started a doctoral program, I enjoy games where I can play after a time away and still feel involved without having to spend many hours just to get to par.

Enchanting has been improved dramatically IMO, with the update Dulrik put in. However, I completely relate to the time sink problem. I have similar issues.

Achernar is right. I encourage you to come try the new enchanting system, Ajon.

On a related note, I realize that it's been a while, but are you open to the notion of tweaking the enchant system so that you can enchant stacking saves to armor? Not sure how anyone else feels after the amount of time since the last enchant change, but although the enchant changes were awesome I feel that it disproportionately buffed armor that has innate saves versus armor that doesn't: Armor that has innate will/fort on it is immensely more useful than armor that doesn't, since no level of enchanting can make up the difference. As a result, that means that there's a lot of armor that became very undesirable because of it.

While I would not rule it out entirely, I would say that some of the goals of the system were:

1. Continue to make pre-enchanted items command a premium over store-bought gear
2. Reduce the maximum (practical) attainable saving throw bonuses across the board

Rather than allowing stacking saves, I'd rather builders respond to even out the playing field for existing gear. Which means not just beefing up the sucky items but also shaving down the superlative ones.

let people buy land, a single wild square, and let them build a house or have it build.
maybe a player guild system

The Idea for a 'territories' type game for tribunals still would be the single greatest change in sk history.
(I can't state that as a fact, but an opinion)

Let countries begin taking over each other.

#Territories>CRS

...I promise to never hashtag on this site again.

I think quite a bit of the armor that requires somewhat extensive pve should be beefed up. How long has it been since anyone has truly utilized the blue flame adamantite? All armor of good quality should be reevaluated. I don't think any armor out there is OP right now. But I could be wrong.

This has led to melee dominance. I'd only be in favor of switching enchantments from magical protection to armor protection. The only armor I could argue for it being beefed with saving throws is light armor. There's been a lot of love shown to heavy armors, but almost no love shown to items like mithril. This would help beef up the swashbuckler class a little bit.
