Actually the jewish name for him is YHWH(pronounced Yah Way). Jehovah is just a translation of the hebrew spelling of the name. and Allah is the same God. read this

Regarding the realm if IRL theology, those within (myself being a Christian) can show how the god being worshipped is not the same regardless of some claims while those from without cannot see the diametrically opposed claims about who God is nearly so clearly.

Now, let's get out of IRL theology and back onto the bad idea of religious channels. I personally believe a char or group of chars can in fact believe in the same god as others but have an expansive difference of opinion regarding major religious points. This would suggest a separation of this group from the other group. Also as Benzo Balrog pointed out, some religions will run the whole gamut of alignments and cabals. The religious nature of people isn't so neatly tied up into a ball as tribunals or cabals and they won't necessarily walk lock-step like the secular groups.

Tells work surprisingly well when things need to be spread, even including friends of the religion. It doesn't take long for a single tell to cause an uproar from a crowd of people.


To summarize, down with religion channel.

And actually, my feeling there, is a lot of very deep philosophical exchanges can take place. And various plots and plans can be initiated and planned, even if is a storyline that involves strife and conflict within the religion.

Players on the game are pretty spread out. I can advocate note board postings all day (and some people hate me for it.) If the add'n of of
religious channels (I like TheCannibal's vision of its implimentation) got
some of the OOC 'planning' and some of this OOC forum 'whaa, **** attacked me and now I want to PK her, won't you all come [REDACTED] with me' reduced to IC discussion of 'What should we do with ****?' I think
everyone's enjoyment of the game would improve.

No religious CB. Just look at the Anglican communion right now. There is a branching segment (the US Church) from the rest of the communion, who have HORRIBLY differing views with regards to who can be clergy. I cannot see the African bishops going over cb (RB?) to talk about their strategy to bring the americans back into the fold, or vice versa.

For the record, neither this suggestion or cabal channels are "global channels". "Global" refers to a channel that anyone in the game has the option to listen to, not a channel that can reach someone regardless of where they are in the world.

That doesn't mean that I think a religion channel is a good idea though.
