Maybe I'm the only 'veteran' who thinks it, but scouts are awful. They are up there with barbarians, swashies before changed-taunt to give them one purpose in life, and shaman.

But hey, they're a fantastic class for the average player who doesn't care about pkill - and obviously none of the proposed changes here would serve a purpose while increasing the amount of tactics in pk (A necessity on all new abilities, as Dulrik has apparently stressed - manual skills are preferable to automatic ones).

Since when did the entire game revolve around PK?

If you want nothing but PK go back to Everwar.

When he says ranged melee he means...

BOW AND X-BOWS!!!!

Are you people ACTUALLY that dense?

Also, the talk is specifically about scouts.

I think all you need to do is...

a) fix rapid shot so it actually works

It says if you get all of your attacks with a projectile weapon it will allow you another faster attack. I can get my full three attacks with a longbow, but never get the fourth.

b) perhaps add a skills called "precision shooting"

This skill could not effect accuracy. Accuracy and prescion are two different things. If you get four attacks a round with a bow then they would all hit the same exact spot. You can miss all of them, or you can hit all of them to the head.

c) and perhaps add a skill called "enhanced aim"

This skill would be a higher level skill that upped the accuracy AND damage of projectile weapons due to the ability to put an arrow right where you'd want it.

OVT? I was unaware MELEE included bows and crossbows.
Ranged melee=weapons with reach?

OH, I just thought you had the terminology mixed up.

Well if you want priests and shamans to be able to use pole-axes/maces better than I say no. They have stuff already.

No, I'm saying make them weaker at the lower levels.
I am saying let them even back out at the higher levels.
I'm not saying this is for priests only. I am saying this is
for everyone.
Then maybe there will be more available, because lately, they just
seem to be disappearing from the realms/not as accessable to lower
players.

I don't think that's the intention, Amadeo. I know a low-level polemace was put in for griffons, who long needed one. I doubt that would have happened if there were a deliberate effort to remove the things.

Low-level polemaces really are nice for some classes. If there aren't any around, perhaps you (or your group) should ask a KD for one.

High-level polemaces don't really need a boost, IMO. They're certainly no spears, but they do an acceptable amount of damage for the non-melee classes who would use them. Keeping your opponent targeted is usually more the point anyway.

Responding accordingly. They are more limited. Several have been removed. Multiple players have said 'oh go there, it's for sale, or look here,' and in each case (for however long I've had this character), the result is been the same - removal. Thus my suggestion. It was not intended as a boost. It was intended as a balance so perhaps there will be a future change where they can be less limited again.

How about Enhanced Targeting? The scout can set the aim to a body part and when the arrow hits that part it does a bit more damage..

Scouts are fine.

To derail the thread for one final comment.

FF tactics best combo -
Monk with heavy armor from the knight class and white/black/or summon magic

I'll kill your monk in one hit.

If only they had made a versus mode on that game.
