Perhaps bring the old Nightfall skill back 'conceal'. Rogues are not overpowered with city camo at all, at best that simply evens them out. I agree that hellions should be as sneaky as they are, but not as sneaky as rogues and halflings naturally have the skills so what makes a rogue the epitome of shadow, I'll tell you, city camo. This could be the kind of thing that earthquake and faerie fog could reveal along with true sight potion but detects should not be able to see a concealed rogue. This is something that would make the class worthwhile to me. As I recall (having played a character long ago in nightfalls faith) conceal was only hide/sneak/invis. Change "conceal" to mean city camo can give it to rogues.

No, I don't see how enhanced sneaking really relates to stealth in the first place.

Rogues for a new skill?

Disrupt.

Like persuade, almost, except limited to moving a target outside of the group formation. Stealth-like.

City camo is just stupidly overpowered. If they get city camo, have them need it up in order to backstab, like ambush and camo.

Or, an enhanced stealth that, say, delays aggro NPCs for 5 seconds from attacking you. I remember when I first played my swash and tried to sneak by a NPC thinking I was hot [REDACTED] when I got the skill, and I got pummelled. Or, an enhanced stealth that shows the player moving in and out of the room, but after he has already entered/left. A mirror image of sorts, distraction-style.

Haha. No. I won't be a hellion forever though.

However, I will emphasize that whatever a rogue has, a hellion must have as far as stealth skills for moving about unseen. It's a game balance issue more than a conceptual one. ;)

Rogues and hellions. It's like Scouts and mercenaries.

*shrug* It just seems odd to me that a halfling <anything> can be every bit as sneaky as a rogue.

Halfings are supposed to be that sneaky. They are the "little people" who live all around us but we can only get a vague sense that they are there. They creep around quietly and what not. It's an integral part of what a halfling is. Wee folk.

What exactly is the problem with Rogues? Why do they need anything? They flee for no exp loss. Great flanking attacks, light armor (mithril almost always), can backstab numberous times on a blind opponent, SCROLLS, which give them a [REDACTED] ton of utility, almost as much as a sorc possibly more then a sorc if you have the right connections. They have parry, dodge, shield block. Every defensive skill but eparry. decent enough weapon selection, the ability to skirmish. Rogues are fully loaded.

Rogues don't need anything. With the addition of cold iron to the game to maximize certain weaknesses in elves, delves, helves, and sprites, the rogue is more dangerous now then it's ever been.

Umm, huh? They have pigstickers.. If you use anything else, you're either just not able to get a pigsticker, or you're silly enough to think another weapon is going to match it somehow. I mean, I could very well be wrong, but at MOST they have maybe 4 subtypes that wouldn't be considered crap. Unless, of course, you're talking about their ability to use range weapons, but every class but barb's get to do that, so it's not exactly impressive.

Do I think rogues need anything? probably not. Though, the subtype system could use a few tweeks, due to the fact that some weapons are just sickeningly awful.

Then again, I've been told that I interject my opinion in matters I know very little about. *shrugs*

Uh, pigstickers might be the best weapon for backstabs, but an enchanted straight dagger(1 or 2 handed) will still take a big chunk(50+% on a human merc in adamantite is going to be a lot to other classes) of hp off.

IMO rogues do need something, I'm just not sure what.
