You can't camo in a wide open space full of... sand. Camo is supposed to help you mingle with the bushes and trees, use the same material to hide in the shadows of trees and bushes. Even if you get fully covered with sand and shells and whatever else you claim, who would be stupid enough not to be able to see you in an open beach? :o
So I say no, no camo on the beach.

Can't you camo in desert? Desert's even more sandy and open than a beach.

Deserts have tumble weed, cactus, plant life, shrubbery. Beaches don't due to the incoming and out going tide. There is such a thing as desert camo, but there isn't such a thing as beach camo.

Beaches can have plant life, shrubbery, driftwood, debris, kelp, cactus, dune grass, large rocks, palm trees, etc., etc. As someone pointed out, these features already exist in various beach descriptions. I'm in favor of beach camo.

Hmmm. Which brings up an interesting point I've never thought of before. How come pretty much all of Pyrathia, including its many islands, feature beaches covering the entire extent of their coastline? Shouldn't there be as many cliffs? Mangroves? Calving glaciers? I just had a picture in my mind of an Anduras delta covered with mangroves.

Peace,
Bux

beaches have more items to hide yourself then any desert. Also, the amount of vegetation in a desert usually pales in comparison to a beach. One must realize that most beaches that we go to are cleaned and cleared of debris and vegetation. I doubt Pyrathia has people going up and down the coastlines keeping them prestine.

Hah, I'd like to see someone "spring" out from being buried up to your head in sand.

Also..

I also vote for it. I mean it is the wilderness. According to the help file Camo is dependant on natural cover. I think that anyone can honestly say that by being outside and playing hide and seek or paint ball will tell you there is cover everywhere.

The beach has things called dunes, much like the desert (i assume this is one of the hiding factors in the desert) and also has an abundance of plant life on these dunes and behind them. I dont see a reason why one couldn't fathom a way of hiding.

As for the river thing, reeds and natural plantlife in most rivers can hide people. Also there is the bank issue which is great cover. Also some might burry themselves on the very banks of a river much like was done in Vietnam to surprise an enemy.

The best way to do the "head popping out of the sand" bit is in a SITTING position.

It's easy to spring up from a sitting position where you're only 3 feet under sand that's placed on top of folded arms and legs.

Drive around, kthnx.
