I'm against it.

Yes, characters should be complete at MASTER. How this is defined in the game is that it means you have all the skills and spells that will be ever be available to you and that you don't gain additional hit points and mana from levelling. "Complete" doesn't mean that a Master should be restricted from ever improving the character as they level up.

Also there is nothing unique about the attribute points you can gain from Mentor onward. If you really never wanted to level again after Mentor, you could gain the same number of points by mentoring. No, it's not going to be nearly as fast, but there will also be many GMs that just don't Mentor, so you can theoretically put yourself on par that way.

You don't gain HP and mana when you level past mentor?

Dulrik, um, there are Master level spells, Voodoo, Magma Spray, and FoD come to mind. The HP/Mana thing is surprising too...Why wouldn't you get tougher/have more energy by advancing your training 10+ more times???

Also, my first character, I thought Mentor was the highest level because I got my last skill at that level.

And, EQ makes a lot more difference than stat points for everybody except casters, IMO.

Sorry, I mistyped in the post above because a lot of the later concepts were applicable to Mentors. What I meant to say is the character is complete at Master. I have amended my post above.

You don't gain HP and MOVE when you level past MASTER. This has been true, pretty much forever. You do still get mana. My mistake there.

There are really still a whole lot of advantages to GMing beyond the attribute points. The other reasons on the list are very valid I feel. I think the gap between GM and Master is too big. Does this mean you disagree with that entirely or just that this isn't the right way to fix it? I've felt for a long time that honestly the people who are interacting, RPing and maybe exploring should be getting more benefits. As it stands, most of those things will get you killed in today's SK. Especially if don't level to GM before you try to do them.

On the side sort of and in defense of front-loading, if these points are available either way like you said what's the harm in giving them earlier? They can get even get more later. And you still get all the other perks of being GM.

What [REDACTED] [REDACTED] is this? You don't get HP/PE but you still get ME? Why are casters always getting the better end of the stick? First they are the ones that actually improve with age and now with the last 10 levels.....

This is [REDACTED]!

Makes up for Mercs/Rogues raping the PvP scene?

Melee classes also scale much better with their gear than caster classes do. It doesn't matter what sort of gear or enchants casters get, it's not going to help them do any more damage in PvP, melee classes on the other hand can increase their effectiveness exponentially with better equipment.

So really, melee has just as much reason to get GM, so they can get that better equipment. :p

Haha, are you seriously arguing that casters get the better end of the stick in SK? That is rich. Secondly, the neglible mana you get from those last 10 levels might actually benefit barbs/warriors in a cabal more than a dedicated caster, not to mention hybrids.

The primary incentive to level is still equipment and the capability to enchant/use it.
