Sure, it's a cute idea, and a lot of fun, but the OOCness of it makes it look really, really stupid from an RP standpoint.

Ignoring the OOC'ness Ignoring the anti-RP good versus evil aspects involved in corpse desecration for a moment...

Think about it. Pulling out someone's dismembered leg to show off your trophy? It would take a really sick freak to carry around someone's dismembered (let alone more than one, when you think about people trophy-killing) bodyparts in a bag to show them off for bragging rights.

I could see it, just maybe, with evil characters, and even then, only with identifiable body parts. Like heads. Anything else, skins and such? Why would anyone even recognize it as a specific person?

On a related note, it seems to promote really demented pk when you start handing out trophies for whacking people.

FORGET THE LEGS!

Jesus christ, people. Keep legs and arms as unidentifiable as you like - nobody cares.

Skins should have names. I could RP stamping the person whose death I've caused on every skin I own, but it still won't have their name on it. Then it's silly RP not to have the skin named.

Just have the god damn skins named because it's fun.

Meh, it's alright. If the owner of the skin has greeted you, or if you -are- that person, you see the skin's name.

So then if I say "Hey Jack, see this skin? It's John's."

He doesn't go "Oh wow, John's skin!", he goes "Oh, John still hasn't greeted me, so because of that, even though you told me I still can't tell that it's John's skin". Then the next time he sees it, even though it's the exact same skin he goes "Oh wow, whose skin is that? Apparently I've never seen it before!" like an idiot.

How is that any better an IC solution than yours? I would hazard that it is in fact stupid. And worse.

Even more stupid and even more silly is the fact that because enemies rarely sit around greeting each other, you will potentially never know whose skin you have for sure, even if you cut it off their back yourself. Good show! That is an excellent RP solution!

Blame the twinkies for getting it changed, Jardek.

No, I will instead blame the people who apparently bitched and moaned to get this ridiculous, asinine, and pointless change put into the game.

Or better, I won't even blame them. I'll simply outline, as I have above, that the change that has occured is in no way a better IC environment than what it was before. In fact, it is worse. This change should be undone.

I'm totally all about letting arms, legs, fingers, toes, left ears, etc remain unidentifiable. Hacked up body parts should be unidentifiable and I do agree with what Alshain said.

SKINS THOUGH C'MON!

I don't know where I was D, but I woulda fought tooth and nail to keep them.

Skins can jsut be a strip of hide off the back, but it could include the face too. Anyone who has seen the Devil's Rejects where Otis where's the girl's father's skin knows this. I always rp'd Cilek as cutting the faces off with the skin so they would remain identifiable. And yes, tattoos and such, which a lot of characters have if you read their desc, would keep skins identifiable too.

I want named skins dang nabbit. That "if you've greeted the character it still shows up" crap doesn't cut it. I want everyone and their momma to know when I'm fully decked out in Frollith skins, not just the people he's greeted.

That's the only purpose of skinning players. To wear their skins as trophies!

I gotta go listen to Dead Skin Mask now.

It seems that the mud has ranged to two different camps: the people who collect skins and the people who are skins.

I am in the former, than the latter. Ace used to have some nice skin collections.

So, add the ability to take (non-voodoo) heads from corpses?
