I'm against forced titles. I'm not saying it isn't lame when a champ/GM doesn't have even a basic title, but forcing them isn't the solution.

A title should be rooted in your RP.

Let's Analyze.
Code:
[HP:100%] [ME:100%] [PE:100%]
> who ezeant

[Gri Sco] [FIST] Ezeant, Peacemaker, Prior of the White Swan.

Players found: 0

Peacemaker: a title given to Ezeant by Ragnal after preventing Caeserea and Lirimaer from killing each other.

Prior of the Swan: Obviously, I am prior of the fisties. I don't have to broadcast this, but I do. Oh well.

Being without a title at master or above is lame.

Having a lame title may or may not be lame, depending on the contextual basis for the title. I made the lame title of 'Grand Poobah of LadyLuck' because the hierarchical whimsicality was fitting, at least in my mind.

But title lameness is not even on par with many other lamenesses that regularly occur in the game. If Billy Joel can say it's hip to be square, I guess I can say it's acceptable to be lame--at least in this circumstance. I voted negatively in the poll.

I think you meant Huey Lewis, not Billy Joel.

Sorry, my music twists around in my head and I lose track of names.

Huey is right.

How about if I have a champ/gm char who hasn't done anything? What if he's still a nobody who's biding his time, waiting for the right moment to strike? By all means, police titles. I don't really need to be seeing this moronic crap every time I type who. However, if titles are forced, I will make a point of never having any more of a title than my character's last name. Either that or I'll just leave SK. I have the funny feeling that quite a few people agree with me.

This is a really, really stupid idea.

Would it be that hard to set your title as something basic like "Joe Bob - Warrior"? I mean jesus, THIS IS SO HARD TO DO! I'M GONNA STOP PLAYING!!!

That's still pathetic but it's much better than some guy named Joe who the whole mud knows and when you type who you just see "Joe."

Try Joe Bob - Nobody In Particular. Now imagine seeing that fifteen times over on the who list. Yeah, that'll make SK much more interesting.

I've mentioned what an idiot you are, right?

There are people with no intention of letting rumors about them spread around. You can't force them to spread rumors about them just for your own aesthetic reasons.

It would be if you don't want Joe to be known as a barb/merc.
