Maybe the change needs to be made to charm person?

Perhaps charm person is a new crime such as enslavement or mental assault. Which results in the same penalty as murder if committed against a pc.

If you read the pillars at the gates of Nerina, charming is a crime...unless they changed that part.

Looks like an IMM needs to look at Algon's char and when he does turn himself in, the IMM should junk all of the loot that he stashed, kill the NPC that has the loot and junk the loot, and/or kill the pc that has the loot and junk the loot.

Which brings me to an idea. I don't know if it is possible to code, but a code for all items to auto deathrot if any of the previous x owners goes to jail. Without having it equipped and within 24hrs (or some other arbitrary time).

I would lump the charm in with
Fix weaknesses with magical items and spells that don't incur crimes

You should NOT have to spend half an effing half an hour in jail for each NPC you fight. You should only go to jail for crimes against PCs.

My character spent 95 days in jail in Exile. Unfortunately the dramatic imbalance of darkies to lighties prevented my escape.

Oh well..

The sheer fact that there is one active Sker saying they don't abuse the law system clearly points out that less than 99% cheat with the law.

I also commend archaicsmurf for spending 95 days in jail, and for the reasons why he stayed in jail. It is for that reason (among many others) that I wholeheartedly detest the idea of the deathmark, because of it potential abusing by leaders. I actively pursued a change to banishment to it current form BECAUSE even banishment was being abused by tribunal leaders.

While I completely understand the frustration the law system might seem, the only thing I would honestly hope to see changed is Syndal's idea and a dramatic reduction in time one should IRL stay in jail. Because in the end it isn't the time spent in jail that we hate, its the fact you lose EQ and/or money (for those of you who do not 'cheat') along with obtaining a bad reputation in that kingdom for being a 'lawbreaker' (by PCs of course).

I also enjoy Algon's noble character creations. If he didn't create characters to abuse codes, then someone else would have to put their foot forward. Personally, I wouldn't want to be that person and I'm sure no one else has the time on their hands for such chivalrous deeds. Instead of teasing him, we should congratulate him.

There are already 99% of the mud stepping forward to abuse law code. All I am doing is doing it every single day rather than one a month, and I am logging every time I do it.

I cant possibly be the only player who actually goes along with the law system? No wonder everyone thought I was crazy when I let the Empire execute Yuni while wearing all his stuff.
