Alv, if I'd known who you were playing, I'd have been more than happy to slay you. I slew most of my favorite players, back in the day. It was the only thing that made IMMing bearable.

I know it wasn't a (that thing I can't mention on the forums) because Lathron did an emote and three says before attacking. They were also coherent.

Lathron also didn't slay you, he was merely displaying his discontentment with your declaration that you are his ruler...as well as calling him a cow and other things.

I for one want to say here that the NPC-PC interactions of late have been fun and promoted me to embrace and develop my characters.

I will say that I found it ironic that I was getting lectured to by Lathron about declaring myself king of the city of freedom, though. He spends half his time charmed, calls himself a prince, and wears a crown.

Ah but he doesn't call himself prince of -teron-, there's the difference. Besides, spending a lot of time charmed gives you a whole new perspective on freedom.
