Do all NPCs in newb zones need to stun? The disfigured elf isnt set on stun. Ive been trying a delf sorc since all the others mentioned were physical chars. Yeah its not so fun. Im getting raped right and left and have only managed to kill a few NPCs.

They all should be set to stun. I will check it over and make sure. If the elf wasn't then I am sorry. There are certain objects in the gauntlet that do help weaker classes own those NPCs if you find what I am talking about. The story line is a random chance. You have one of three chances to get a different story. I may put in a few more, if I get a creative idea that does not sound like the others. The quest you are all missing is in the newbie tutorial hall prior to the portal. I created it to make sure a true newbie understands commands. There are two in the gauntlet and one outside it. The NPCs are set a little higher than some areas, this is where consider comes in handy because some are acceptable for weaker classes. The armor and weapons also help a newbie greatly.

When I tested the area, I had a sprite sorc go through and they were able to do it quickly and painlessly when they got the item that helps magic users. I won't give away too much information that should be discovered and utilized but I will say that one should pay attention to the NPCs your killing. Some may be utilized for more than just training and killing.

Suggestion then: Maybe a 'dies' script that hints at what they're missing out on...

The magic user "helper item" is pretty obvious.

I tested out a sprite necro there. It was pretty tough and I died twice (I don't remember the NPCs, though). I gathered what I thought were all the necessary items, and I don't remember anything altering the ease that much. I didn't have identify so I don't know what things did. But maybe I just missed it.

Necros suck at leveling.

And on the topic of leveling. I am always amazed at how many priests there are. I can't get a priest past like level 5 without being annoyed at how much they suck.
