If this -is- implemented, then there should be a set timer on it that is shorter than snare, and that anyone can break out of. The real problem I have with it is that most of its use is going to consist of "Hey, I stunned XXX and took all his lewt, gate me to the judge so I can drag him through the gate and have him arrested."

Either that or "Hey, I stunned XXX, gate to Terje so I can drag him through and finish the job so I can't get banished."


Actually now that I think about it, this is an awful idea.

Binding existed in the form of charm person scrolls and was removed.

I don't see how any replacement for something taken away from the players could really generate any steam... just a lot of hot air. I don't mean to sound like a negative nancy, but you may not have been here to see when charm could be scrolled, or when people could issue commands as benign as "sit" when charmed. From what I gather, robbing players of control of their characters through anything other than death is complicated territory from a balance perspective.

Plus, honestly and more importantly...

The people who would enjoy it are the same people who would probably do it willingly without the system forcing it upon them.

I mean, when was the last time you tied someone up? Let me tell you that consent, even if veiled by a bit of roleplay, is still an important factor.
