I vaguely recall a certain dwarf bard absolutely destroying Jerin's tank dwarf Aedus (who was quite possibly the buffest character to this day in SK) in a melee fight pre-specialize and what not back when the mottled lance was the ultimate weapon to have.

Anyone that says that bards or priests can't be built to tank is clearly incompetent. Does nobody remember Tedster's priest Vaodan?

Truth. Things have somewhat changed since then with weapon accuracies, specialize, moods and such, but that only skews it in the favor of bards when played right. A dwarf fist bard, both sides unbuffed, owned dwarf MC mercenary. Buffs are available to all sides equally.

Bards are sick tanks, and priests can be too when done right (to a MUCH lesser extent - in specialized circumstances they're awesome, but not as broad as a bard or merc)

I just remembered the players handle. Lithgorin, right? Man I wish he'd come back to SK. You should build a tank bard to prove that it can be done. I'd do it but i'm having too much fun spam edraining people at the moment.
