It is your fault for holding concentration on all of those spells instead of using scrolls/pots/staves/wands. And you are still only focusing on the caster and int argument. There really is no merit to your argument, Minette.

The only thing I would be in favor of is Dulrik increasing the elf charisma to Inspirational. I am not sure why he stopped just shy of giving them that. It just seems like there should be a race that naturally gets that high of charisma though. Personally, I feel the int argument is dumb because it only focuses on one thing in particular. It misses every other point completely. If you want to play a caster with omniscient int, then roll a deep-elf.

If you can't be assed to deal with the slight inconvenience of having lower intelligence then don't play that race. I personally don't see why having slightly lower int than a human is such a bad thing. Look at all the other perks that elves get over humans, and then what their stats can do for all of the classes they play, not just the sorcerer class.

Elves get 19 str, 23 dex, 18 con, 22 int, 18 wis, 24 cha, increased resistance to charm, less damage from spells. Opposed to the only bonus that humans get is a +3 bonus to the prime stat of their class. Elves in general have way better perks than humans, and the same goes for deep-elves.

Personally, I feel you just need to toughen up, and play the class regardless what you feel is inferior stats. I think you are just flat out wrong in all of your assertions.

Griffons are barbarians instead of mercs because griffons cannot be mercs.

In any case, even lore doesn't propose that elves should be that terrific mages. They can be decent ones, they can't be more intelligent than a human mage. They can make great swashbucklers, incredible bards etc.

What I would like to see, though, is gnomes have their int raised to 23. Lore has them that they are excellent mages, and with the 22 int, they are only decent now. I say give elves 20 wisdom and gnomes 23 int. Perhaps decrease con or dex by one for gnomes and increase con for elves. That should do it.

Gnomes do not need, or deserve 23 int, sorry.

Gnomes are perfectly fine. 25 WIS is sick nasty.

If anything, elves should have their wis bumped up to the deep-elf wis, or their CHA should be bumped up to inspirational right out of the gate. One thing that's always sucked about playing an elf caster is the terrible mana pool.

Why? There are always people playing elves. They are perfectly fine if you ask me. The biggest trait an elf has isn't their attribute points but that elves are über cool and hot. Just take a look at Arwen in Lord of the Rings. Now -that's- attributes.

I'd rather see Dulrik spending his time number crunching attributes for hmmm goblins or some other new playable race :D
