Swash shouldn't get wrecked by someone with a greatsword or claymore. I play a barb and I find it stupid, that those are the number one choice when fighting a swashbuckler, makes the need for claws nonexistant.

Have you ever tried to parry a greatsword with a rapier?

The way I see it, swashies aren't supposed to be able to stand toe-to-toe with a barb/merc who has chosen the right weapon. They are inferior fighters, but are compensated with taunt, which is the only way to land ganks on many good players.

A lot of classes don't stand a chance against a barbarian in a 1v1.

First off, claws are [REDACTED] and should be worn in the weapon slot, not the hand slot. I don't care if they are literally considered hand-to-hand weapons. They should just be attachments. Secondly, claymores are huge weapons. Thirdly if you aren't using a massive weapon, the swashbuckler will rightly hand you your [REDACTED] on a platter. Riposte is just *that* good.

On the flip side though, when faced with massive weaponry they're trash. They're also not as good tanks in PvE due to the lack of shield block, and inability to really effectively fight with a shield.

Point of my arguement was the fact that a Blade Dancer, should'n get their rear handed to them by someone using a SWORD. I find claws extremely useful, and have beaten a swash with them on multiple accounts. You would think a master of swords would know that one technique to shrug off the blow of a claymore or greatsword. Besides just getting the heck out of the way.

Shrug off a blow from a claymore or greatsword? Not likely without a weapon of the same size. If anything said Swashie will want to dodge the blow and counter.

Swashies should get some form of enhanced dodge to show their agility.

It should be a skill that is affected greatly by mood adjusting from ability to dodge and parry to ability to hit and finesse.

Have you seen the types of weapons that swashbucklers are limited to as opposed to what a weapon like a claymore looks like? It's simple physics. And no matter what anybody tells you, size *does* matter.

I will disagree, it's a matter of swinging and thrusting, which is the key point behind a swashbuckler after all. :)

It's not the size of the sword, its how you swing it
