You can facepalm all you want, pushing40, though I don't know why you would facepalm in reaction to your own post. I was only trying to help. On a sidenote, I think it's kind of silly that this poll doesn't even have a "Training MR is a bad choice" option. Biased poll is biased.

Honestly, I don't think this would be easily coded. The way I see it, is trained MR is no different than MR via enchants. It would work the same way I imagine as in when a spell is cast on you, its put against a check of your MR. The question is, your MR, whether trained or enchanted I don't think is differentiated. This means that shamans would have to ignore MR completely or none at all.

Kin, you may have a point. I don't know. But I do know the code is set such that eq-modified CHA does not affect exp gained from the CHA modifier. So there is a differentiation hard-coded in that arena. I don't know if there is a differentiation in the MR arena or if not, whether it would be difficult to differentiate.

But your point is, indeed, valid.
